Mr. Bryn Davidson
Executive Director
Dynamic Cities Project
Bryn Davidson is a LEED accredited designer and sustainability consultant holding degrees in mechanical engineering (U.C. Berkeley) and architecture (U. British Columbia). He is the co-founder and executive director of the Dynamic Cities Project (DCP, a non-profit organization based in Vancouver, British Columbia) that is working to develop energy transition strategies as a proactive response to peak oil and climate change. In parallel with his research and outreach work through the DCP, Bryn designs low-energy green homes, and works with planners and real estate developers on projects that aim to have a "net positive" impact on their community's emissions and oil dependence.
The Dynamic Cities Project was founded in 2005 as a non-profit think tank working to integrate the nexus of peak oil and climate change - "the global energy transition" - into the practice of urban and regional planning. Since then, Bryn's presentations and research have received enthusiastic reviews both locally and globally, and several of his presentations have been translated into multiple foreign languages.
Bryn has given numerous presentations on the global energy transition to professional, business and civic groups, and has facilitated community workshops using the DCPs energy transition scenarios. His current work focuses on using scenario-based planning as a means to help planners and political leaders make more resilient investments in civic infrastructure.
